Recruiting Roundup: March 19, 2019

The Cyclones picked up a commitment from safety Craig McDonald (Minneapolis, Minn.) after a Junior Day visit, earlier this month on the 9th.  Iowa State had offered him on April 25th last year and he visited for the Oklahoma game.  McDonald is rated as the No. 44 safety and No. 692 overall and is the fourth commit for 2020.  He will be an early enrollee for a class currently rated 26th by 247Sports Composite.

*** Steve Prohm visited 2019 combo guard target Clarence Nadolny (Long Island, N.Y./Paris, France) at the end of February. Nadolny has had contact with the Iowa State for awhile and was recently offered on February 11th.  He also holds offers from Georgetown, TCU and West Virginia.

*** Class of 2019 power forward signee Luke Anderson (Lakeland, Fla.) was in Ames for the Texas Tech game.

*** The 247Sports profile of power forward Ben Carlson (St. Paul, Minn.) profile now shows “Warm” to Iowa State, Iowa, Minnesota, Purdue, Stanford, and Xavier.  Carlson is the son of former ISU men’s basketball forward Marc Carlson and is rated as the No. 10 PF in the class of 2020.

*** Outside linebacker Hunter Zenzen (Barnesville, Minn.) made his way to Ames on March 3rd.  ISU became his first and only P5 offer on January 29th.  He has FCS offers from North Dakota, North Dakota State, and South Dakota.
