RECRUITING: Iowa State MBB earns commitment from four-star G Christian Wiggins

Iowa State men’s basketball earned its latest commitment to the 2026 recruiting class _____ in Christian Wiggins, a 6-foot-5, 180-pound guard out of Wayzata, Minnesota.

Wiggins announced the move over his social media accounts.

Wiggins is rated as the No. 52 player in the class by the 247 Sports composite scale, and is also rated as the No. 8 shooting guard in the class.

He chose Iowa State over Creighton, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Northern Iowa.

What it means: Wiggins is a lengthy athlete that can shoot the three on a step-back as well as take it inside. He can score from anywhere and will give the Cyclones an offensive threat if his game can translate in the Big 12.

The 2026 class: Wiggins joins point guard Yusef Gray Jr. as the lone players in the 2026 class so far.

The addition technically brings the class up to the No. 2 spot in the overall rankings, however most teams have not yet earned two commitments for the cycle.

This does put Iowa State ahead of the 8-ball by a fair margin, as it already has a 2027 commitment from forward Josiah Harrington, and that could help out over the next few years.
