Iowa State picked up a second offensive lineman out of the transfer portal in the past week Tuesday in former Wisconsin tackle Derek Jensen.
Jensen, a 6-foot-6, 290-pound player was a four-star prospect out of high school and originally had an Iowa State offer back in August of 2021.
The product of Arrowhead High School was also teammates with current Iowa State defensive lineman Jace J. Gilbert.
What it means: Iowa State lost the Helton twins to the portal a couple of weeks ago and have now quickly found replacements that each have college experience.
Losing talent is never ideal, but this addition, along with Austin Barrett, could be the best-case scenario in today’s age of the portal.
