Iowa State a No. 3 seed in NCAA Tournament, will face Lipscomb in first round

Iowa State men’s basketball will be a No. 3 seed in this year’s NCAA Tournament, and will face No. 14 Lipscomb in Milwaukee in the first round on Friday.

The Cyclones finished their season with a 24-9 (13-7) overall record after being downed by BYU in the Big 12 quarterfinals.

Lipscomb finished 25-9 (14-4) and won the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament to secure its bid into the tournament. The Bisons are led by coach Lennie Acuff, who’s in his sixth season at the helm of the program.

Jacob Ognacevic leads Lipscomb in scoring, averaging 20.1 points per game down low for the team, which is slated at No. 83 in the nation by KenPom.

No. 3 Iowa State vs. No. 14 Lipscomb will tip off at 12:30 p.m. Friday on TNT.
