Former Cyclone running back David Montgomery has agreed to a new deal with the NFL’s Detroit Lions.
The news of the two-year extension was first reported by Adam Schefter.
Lions RB David Montgomery reached agreement on a two-year, $18.25 million extension that contractually ties him to Detroit through the 2027 season, per source. The deal includes $10.5 million in new guaranteed money.

Montgomery’s contract extension is worth a total of $18.5 million and includes $10.5 million worth of guaranteed money.
It keeps Montgomery in Detroit through the 2027 season.
Montgomery has rushed for 271 yards on 63 attempts this year for the Lions, scoring four touchdowns for the team.
During his career in the league, he’s recorded 12, 100+ yard rushing games.
