Iowa State fans and football staff alike have even more to celebrate this July 4, as Joshua Patterson officially announced his commitment to the program over Instagram Live.
The 6-0, 180-pound defensive back will come to Ames from Ed White High School in Jacksonville as part of the 2025 class.
Patterson chose the Cyclones over Wake Forest, Louisville, Maryland, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Indiana, Coastal Carolina, Tulane, USF, Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Liberty, Bowling Green, UMass, Troy, UConn, Charlotte, East Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Southern, Western Kentucky, Florida A&M, Alabama A&M and West Georgia.
Rated as the No. 61 safety prospect in the country, Patterson will join Deon Broomfield’s room at Iowa State.
This is the second safety commit to the class for Iowa State, along with in-state commit Ethan Stecker.
