Iowa State ranked for first time this season, at No. 23 in AP Poll

For the first time in the 2022-23 season, Iowa State men’s basketball is in the AP Poll after starting the season 5-1.

The Cyclones are ranked No. 23 after going down in the Phil Knight championship game to a now No. 8 UConn team to end the weekend at 2-1.

Other non-conference opponents for the program includes St. Johns and Iowa, who received one and 31 votes, respectively, in the poll.

Nine Big 12 programs appeared in the poll in either the top 25 or receiving votes category.

Iowa State will return to the court to play as a ranked team when it faces North Dakota at Hilton Coliseum on Wednesday, November 30 (7:00 p.m. ESPN+).
