T.J. Otzelberger and staff’s run in the transfer portal continues.
Iowa State has landed a commitment from Penn State transfer guard Izaiah Brockington. This addition fills out the Cyclones’ roster for the 2021-22 season.
Brockington averaged 12.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game this past season for the Nittany Lions while shooting 43 percent from the field and 84 percent from the free-throw line.
A 6-foot-4, 200-pound off-ball guard, Brockington previously transferred to Penn State from St. Bonaventure. The Philadelphia native has averaged 7.9 points and 2.8 rebounds per game during his three seasons of collegiate action.
He chose Iowa State over other finalists Wake Forest, BYU and Arkansas.
This is the sixth addition to the Iowa State roster from the transfer portal since Otzelberger was hired to replace Steve Prohm in late March. Brockington is the second guard to transfer from a Big Ten school, joining Minnesota transfer Gabe Kalscheur.
