CFTV: Steve Prohm & company preview road date with Texas

AMES – The Iowa State men’s basketball team will hit the road on Saturday following Monday’s win over Oklahoma in Hilton Coliseum. The Cyclones will face Texas on Saturday at the Frank Erwin Center (1:00 p.m. ESPN2).

Head coach Steve Prohm as well as a pair of players previewed the matchup on Thursday afternoon.

Prohm also discussed how consistent junior Michael Jacobson has been all season for the Cyclones. Jacobson is averaging 11.9 points per game, and is shooting 58.8 percent from the field this season, which leads Iowa State’s starters.

Second among those starters is freshman Tyrese Haliburton who will be playing at Texas for the first time in his career.

Senior Nick Weiler-Babb, who is in his third year as a player on the active roster for the Cyclones, will visit Austin with the hopes of beating the Longhorns for the first time in his career, personally.

Texas is one of three teams Weiler-Babb hasn’t beaten on the road in the Big 12. The other pair of squads are TCU and Iowa State’s opponent for next Wednesday: West Virginia.
