Kamilo Tongamoa suspended for season-opener against SDSU

Iowa State defensive tackle Kamilo Tongamoa has been suspended for the Cyclones’ season-opener on Saturday in relation to an OWI arrest over the offseason, an Iowa State spokesman tells Cyclone Fanatic publisher Chris Williams.

Tongamoa was listed in a battle for the backup spot at defensive tackle prior to the start of the Cyclones’ fall camp but was removed from the depth chart released on Monday due to the suspension.

The former four-star recruit out of Merced CC joined the Cyclones just days prior to fall camp in 2017 before going on to play in only four games and recording one tackle.
