RECRUITING: 2017 late graduate JUCO CB picks up Iowa State offer

A summer graduate junior college defensive back picked up an Iowa State offer late last week. Independence C.C. cornerback Antonio Howard tweeted out an offer from the Cyclones on Saturday.

Howard, a 5-foot-10, 186-pound Miami-native, also holds offers from Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Ohio and a handful of others. He told Cyclone Fanatic on Sunday that he first started having contact with the Iowa State coaching staff last Wednesday. As of now, there is not planned official visit to Ames.

Howard officially visited Texas A&M the weekend of April 11. He made 19 tackles, 14 of them solo, three tackles for loss, two sacks and forced two fumbles during his freshman season.

He’ll graduate this summer and be available to enroll at his next school in the fall. The process between Howard and Iowa State is just starting to get off the ground, but it will be on worth monitoring.
