KANSAS CITY — Throw seeding out the window. Vegas doesn’t care.

Following 7th-seed Texas’ 65-53 victory over 10th-seeded Texas Tech on Wednesday night at the Big 12 Tournament, the Longhorns (20-12, 9-10) are only a 2-point underdog in tonight’s (6 p.m. on ESPNU) matchup with 2nd-seeded Iowa State (22-8, 12-6).

The Cyclones won both meetings against Texas during the regular season but a supremely talented Longhorn squad is in utter desperation mode.

According to Joe Lunardi’s latest "Bracketology" at ESPN.com, the Longhorns are part of his "last four in." A win vs. Iowa State would likely lock up an NCAA Tournament berth for Texas, who has an RPI of 40.
