Rankings Recap: Cyclones drop to 17, 19 in major polls

As expected, Iowa State dropped in both major polls on Monday. 

After going 1-1 last week (a 25-point road loss to West Virginia and a six-point home win over Texas Tech), the Cyclones fell six spots to No. 17 in the AP Top 25. Iowa State dropped from 14th to 19th in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll. 

Up next for the Cyclones is a Tuesday night (6 p.m.) home date with the Texas Longhorns (No. 19, 17).

*** The Cyclones are 17th in ESPN’s BPI.  

*** Iowa State still sits at No. 10 in Gary Parrish’s top 25 at CBSSports.com. 

*** CBS "Bracketologist" Jerry Palm has Iowa State as a four-seed in his latest projections.
