Iowa State cracks the top 10; receives major love in Bracketology

AMES — The 13-0 Iowa State Cyclones have cracked college basketball’s top 10 in both of America’s major polls.

After defeating Texas Tech 72-69 on Saturday, Iowa State moved up four spots in the AP Top 25 to No. 9. In the USA TODAY Coaches Poll, Iowa State jumped five spots, from 12th to seventh.

The ranking sets up a battle of top 10 foes for Tuesday night’s 6 o’clock tip vs. Baylor (12-1) in Hilton Coliseum. Scott Drew’s Bears are ranked seventh in the AP Top 25 and ninth in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll.

After Tuesday’s tussle, Iowa State is schedule to travel to Oklahoma on Saturday at 11 a.m.
