i think 7-11 gets you in and probably out of the first four game, but you are saying if we go like 5-13 in conference we would make it?

I don't think 5-13 gets us in.

I think 6-12 would get us to the bubble and possibly play in game depending who the 6 came from. big 12 is just too damn tough this year.

Anything less than 7-11 would be NIT IMO, unless we make a run in the Big 12 tourney, or knock off Baylor in Waco, beat Kansas 1/2 times etc. Would need a big marquee win to get in at under 7-11.

I'm not even comfortable with 7-11 being enough for NCAAT. I guess it'd be more likely this season than most with so much power in Big 12, but it's possible to go 7-11 without getting any high-end quality wins (or having some low-end losses). Maybe that, combined with what was gleaned in non-con, would qualify -- bubble territory I'm sure, but 8-10 seems like minimum required. I might just be overly cautious.

Based on how we've actually played and acquitted ourselves thus far? I'd say 3-5, with 4 being my pick with a gun to my head.

We will struggle to create offensively against athletic teams who are committed on the defensive end. The great part about that is there are really 2-3 teams in the Big 12 that are even capable of doing that (and we just played one of those). Against most teams the defense, transition, and ball movement/passing will lead to enough points. The defensive intensity has waned, nor has the rebounding effort. This leads me to believe, barring injury, that we will lose 2 games at Hilton and lose 4-5 on the road. I really think this is a 6-7 loss conference team that will have a bevy of quality wins come tournament time.

Otz has them playing at a high level and the only thing I see derailing it is an injury to a key contributor. Or an untimely bout(s) of Covid.

I agree, he said if we go 7-11 we would be a 7 seed...

Heck...considering what we have right now for offensive personel , and where we came from...I'd take a 'play-in' game...just get in.

I would have said 4-5 after Baylor game. 7-8 tonight.

Fear that everyone now has a blueprint for how to play us. our weaknesses got exposed and it looks like we had no idea how to fix them.

If We beat TTU by 4 (7 if you’re not counting last second banked 3) with them at full strength and not shooting 40% FT and 17% 3FG I say that’s a really good win and still really optimistic. But we got bailed out tonight.

I figure we lose both to KU, Baylor, and Texas. We’ll probably drop one at home that we shouldn’t. That means we have to win 3 road games to get to 8-10 which probably puts us middle of the bracket.
