Senior forward Darrell Bowie won’t be with the team for Iowa State’s trip to Lawrence to take on No. 3 Kansas, Steve Prohm announced on Thursday.

The Cyclones’ head coach said Bowie “didn’t meet program standards.” He also said there’s a chance Bowie, who is averaging 6.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, could return to the team on Sunday.

The 6-foot-8 Milwaukee native went 0-of-1 from the field in one minute of play in Iowa State’s loss to West Virginia on Tuesday. He’s started nine games this season but went back to the bench with the reemergence of Merrill Holden.

The Cyclones and Jayhawks will square off at 1 p.m. on Saturday on ESPN.
