The basketball season is over, but the departures are apparently not for West Virginia's men's basketball team. A source tells EerSports that two more Mountaineers have entered their names in the NCAA transfer portal - forward Lamont West and big man Andrew Gordon.

West played in 36 games this year, starting the vast majority of them, and finished with averages of 11.1 points and 4.1 rebounds. He is graduating this spring and would be eligible right away as a graduate transfer.

Gordon played in 34 games, averaging just seven minutes a contest. In that time he averaged 2.3 points and 1.7 rebounds.

West and Gordon join freshman Trey Doomes and junior James Bolden in the transfer portal, after Head Coach Bob Huggins had already dismissed forwards Esa Ahmad and Wesley Harris earlier in the season.

I find your need to constantly sell Xavier Sneed as the second coming slightly disturbing.

This is not my data. It's compiled by opcat who I credited in the opening post. Also, Coach Weber has openly talked about the possibility of losing Xavier to the pros. But, you're probably a better judge about such things than Sneed's coach.

Big 12 will definitely have some new guard next year.

He slightly regressed from previous year. Also, he failed to score double digits in 15 of their 34 games. I'm sure the NBA is knocking down his door.

As I wrote earlier, you're understanding about Xavier's upside is highly valued and certainly more so than coach Weber's views and comments, well, at least in your own mind. Oh, Wes asked me to say hi.

I wouldn't count WVU out. They played well in the Big12 tourney with lots of young guys leading the way. McCabe, Culver, Matthews, and Haley all seem like they are going to be good players, they seemed to have figured things out more towards the end of the year. Plus they are bringing in a McDonalds AA Center next year him and Culver are going to be super annoying for at least us to deal with if not the whole big12.

Way up there
Huggy has 3 solid freshman and a stud coming in, I think they'll still struggle a bit next year because they will be so young but they will be very competitive. Much better than this year.

Given the roster that he's staring at and his health, shouldn't Huggy be thinking about packing it in? He's had an incredible career and I'm sure he's got plenty of money.
I thought WVU had a pretty highly touted big man recruit coming in. Could be wrong about that

Sneed is a good player but he's not in Awundu's league. Wes was a much better ball handler, he could play as a guard. Sneed is good but he's a true SF, he's got a lot to prove to get to the league. Wes carried you guys his senior year in a loaded big 12, I'm not sure Sneed could do that.

I absolutely hate him, and the atrocity he calls basketball, but yeah, he's obviously excellent at getting what he wants out of his teams.

Yeah because Bruce would definitely say "this guy has no chance to make the NBA."

@surly has been touting Sneed as a Big12 killer the past couple of years. Maybe it will happen for him next year, but I doubt it.
This is a completely false narrative. I didn't bring it up in this thread, you did. Nor have I in any others but to say he's talented and we haven't seen the best yet. I've never ever said Xavier was a sure lock/headed to the NBA. That's all straw man argumentation from ISU fans here trying to minimize his talents.

And as for Iwundu, this board went ballistic when I said he'd be drafted. Some of you have short memories.
