How does wrestling put up with these shenanigans? Does the wrestling media try to hold accountable whomever pulls these questionable things? Were these tricks to help with weigh-ins (or just sloppiness and carelessness)?

With roster limits and the weight jam in the middle weights, is there anything different that the coaches and wrestlers will do to eliminate the log jam and moving of weights up & down during the season? I know injuries affected a lot of that.

Whoever shot the video of MJ's pin should be fired. You have a pin happening and you focus on coaches and miss the pin?

edit- wow…I guess I’m wrong…people would rather watch the coaches than the action…but I digress…

I saw a couple different views of the pin, I enjoyed this view and especially liked watching Perry. He’s been a good addition

Sorry to report that I won't be fired for shooting that video! Probably the opposite! The pin is impressive. I said it was my favorite match for a reason.

The team videographer is always going to have a video of any action on the mat. I want to set myself apart and provide a different point of view. What good is offering the same view that a bunch of other people already have? I want to offer something that nobody else will.

At that moment, it was the coaches' bench and fan section reactions. This is something I aim to do often and has become a signature of my work, being able to provide content of some of the moments and people that are often missed when solely focusing on the individual wrestling. I would argue it's what has helped me be successful in my role! If you don't like that, that is ok. It might not be for everyone! I'm always open to feedback and suggestions as long as they are constructive and productive! :)

I really appreciated your video! There would have been many other people only watching the wrestlers so having a different perspective is a great thing!

I think when it comes to the media's role in this, the best we can do is engage with the story.

We don't have media access set up with the Big 12 when we're on-site, so it's not like we have a dedicated time to speak with them. I think the majority of larger media folks did online. I felt the best I could do in this scenario was to make sure to ask Dresser about the situation. The only other thing that could be done is reaching out to the Big 12 directly for comment, which I highly doubt they're going to do at this point.

BUT I get the frustration and need for accountability. Believe me, I think there was a lot of pressure towards the Big 12 from several coaches. Unfortunately, it was just a lot of behind-the-scenes.

Likely what should have been included in the writeup (which was great). I hadn’t seen what the writer was referring to and still haven’t after viewing the included video.
Highlight video below for ya! I'll make sure to include more clips and stuff of this nature to paint the whole picture, though. That's good to know it would've been helpful. I definitely forget that not everyone watches every single second of every match like I do.

Sorry…never meant to cause such a fire storm. I appreciate the other video being shared. As a wrestling fan I just hoped to see what you were so excited about and was frustrated that it wasn’t there. The “fired” part was not a serious comment, but rather a bit of sarcasm and I likely should have included the sarcasm emoji as it’s hard to tell that from a text post. I ALWAYS appreciate any coverage of wrestling being a former wrestler and coach. Keep on doing what you’re doing!

I remember when I asked Ben Durbin this question last year, his whole thing was that when they go into the summer months, they sometimes start those conversations with guys so they can figure out what their training will look like, especially if they're shifting weights. I'm not sure who could go where. In my ideal world, everyone would naturally shift up and feel great and wrestle great Haha

- We've seen Anthony be successful at 141 pounds. Does he stay there?
- I like Swiderski at 149 pounds. What if a season off the mat has changed what weight he wants to be at?
- Paniro wrestled at 157 pounds unattached during the season he sat out. At that time, he told me he felt his natural weight was 149. What if that answer has changed?

So many scenarios to consider. It's definitely going to be a fun problem to solve for Dresser lol After this season though I rather we go back to struggling to figure out where people are going to fit vs. struggling to figure out who is going to wrestle.

Don't apologize. You're allowed to criticize something! I'll only get better that way!

Like I said, it's good to know that I should've included other clips so that if someone who didn't see the pin, can get a better visual. Appreciate it!
