@brentblum @ChrisMWilliams to piggy back off that 7th home game question. I get not paying for a buy game but is there a reason they don’t schedule another home and home with a p4 team or maybe even Pac school at this point. Under Campbell we don’t have to worry about just getting bowl eligible and you’d be able to charge more for season/mini pack/ and single game tickets. Seems like it would worth it financially instead of random MAC or Sun Belt school

Are there many schools that do 2 non conference Power 4 games?

If we're gonna play a road non con game every year why not make it against a quality opponent. At least we get a better home game every other year. We gain nothing and potentially lose everything playing these low caliber g5 schools

@brentblum @ChrisMWilliams I laughed when you guys brought up your Sunday morning show on KASI. I use to listen to that on Sunday mornings when I was in college, but I had the benefit of being able to lie in bed nursing a hangover if needed when I listened. There had to be some rough mornings doing that show.

The reasons are quite obvious. The other issue is who is going to schedule a home and home with us?

A win against a middle of the road g5 is much better than a loss against a P4 when you are trying to get into the playoff. So there is something to gain.

It happens more often on Two Guys, but I always get a kick out of CW acting like Seinfeld is some cult classic. It's probably the most popular and culturally relevant sitcom of our lives.

On the Mike Cox number retirement, as I understand it it was a surprise at the time as well, he was an all conference player and a good leader but definitely a surprise. But Coach Clay Stapleton said he "represented the finest characteristics of a true student-athlete" and wanted his number retired.

I agree on football, retire the jerseys not the numbers.

A 10-2 Big 12 team is already facing a huge uphill battle to get an at large. Going 11 p5 gives your SOS the best shot. A G5 road game has no reward and everything to lose.

The question is how many P4 schools play 11 P4 opponents on even a semi-regular basis.

Because an SEC/ACC school doing 8+2 is functionally the same as a Big 12/B1G school doing 9+1.
This will be West Virginia’s first year (minus Covid year) since 2017 that they haven’t played 11 P4 opponents. Haven’t dug in to look at other teams schedules.

When an undefeated team can't make the playoffs (11-0 FSU) there is something deeply wrong with College football. When you pull back the curtain and see who's in charge (SEC, B1G and ESPN)... you know why.

The lack of a ring of honor/jersey retirement focus isn't a reflection of a lack of good players. It's a reflection of how big of an embarassment the football program as a whole has been for most of its existence. It was an afterthought. A ring of honor for a historically bad program is kind of an oxymoron. Obviously that's changed a lot in the last 30 years, and even moreso, the last 10.
