CW and Blum briefly discussed this regarding the increasing athleticism in the Big 12, particularly with Houston and Arizona.

While Iowa State’s athleticism isn’t a true weakness, it might be our most susceptible strength—high-end athleticism and the ability to play above the rim. You put a ranking of 2, 3, or 4 next to Iowa State and you're running into teams with equal/better athlete's that are able to elevate their defense for one game (often shooting above their season averages to).

Our guard play has been great, and finding ways to get Jefferson going against more athletic bigs, I think, will be crucial the 2nd half of conference play.
