Will have to show we can sustàin excellence thru coaching changes or be able to convince kid CMC is going to be there forever. Also need to be able to survive about 20 degrees of climate warming.

The only position I would say Oklahoma has superior athletes is the D-Line. Maybe speed at the WR positions as well, but Hutchinson is a stud too. Our D-Line is really good, don't get me wrong, but Oklahoma had 3-4 freak guys that we just couldn't block. I thought that was Oklahoma's biggest match-up advantage, by far. Especially their interior pass rush.
The irony is that in the eyes of Sooner fans it was the lack of strength in the D-line that was the difference in the playoff games. Credit Alex Grinch for installing a one-gap scheme and recruiting players to fit the scheme. Better secondary play and better more consistent tackling also to Grinch's credit. Bob Stoops nepotism really hurt OU on the D side of the ball. Not only was Mike terrible but bringing him back cost OU Venables.

We might be able to get a recruit every once in awhile that is an all star, but getting 15 of them year in and year out? That won't happen
