Why not advertising?

I think that advertising would be good for this site by covering expenses and making it more viable for the long run. I know that it wouldn't bother me and given that this site is free, can't imagine it would bother many other site readers.

Of course, I don't know if it is easy to sell advertising on a website like this . . . I thought maybe google had some easy features to implement this, but I really don't know anything.

Not sure if you've looked into this before, but I believe it would be a pretty easy sell to anyone trying to advertise to Cyclone fans. Maybe have different sponsors for each forum category and one overall site sponsor (at a premium charge) for the front page.

I for one am not in favor of everything needing to be commercialized.

As long as there aren't any damn pop-ups I think some well-placed ads would not hurt this site at all to offset the costs.
