Who was the best team in the recent history? Who wins in a 4 team tournament?

1999-2000 - Record 32-5 Player: Marcus Fizer, Jamaal Tinsley, Kantrail Horton, Paul Shirley
2013-2014 - Record 28-8 Players: Korie Lucious, Chris Babb, Will Clyburn, Tyrus McGee
2015-2016 - Record 23-12 Players: Georges Niang, Monte Morris, Matt Thomas, Abdel Nader, Jameel McKay, Deonte Burton
2022-2023 - Record so far 14-4 Players: No Big stars. A complete team? Perhaps

I would say Marcus Fizer's team wins this showdown. But it would be fun watching some of the match-ups!

Jury is still out on this year's team but the conference is so good this year. Also a matchup between this year's team and some of those Hoiberg teams would be really interesting

I agree with you...but I would refer to that team as "Tinsley's team"! Just kidding...kind of! Both players were a presence that many opponents just could not account for!

Yeah, there really isn't much to debate here. '99-'00 is the best season and best team in school history.

Right even the 32-5 record doesn't tell the full story for that team. From Dec until the elite eight loss they went 29-2 with one of their losses being in OT and the other in double OT. Almost four full months of basketball without ending regulation being behind.

I'm going with the 2014 team. Niang, our best player, breaks his foot in the first round of the tourney, but we still went on to beat a tough UNC team two days later. With Niang I think we would've beat UConn and had the roster to possibly have won the entire tourney. Thinking back on it, it still stings. The 2000 team is second.

Agree with others here. Tinsley and Fizer and I don’t think it’s really a debate. Every national college fan and media member worth their weight knew that Elite 8 game was the national championship. MSU walked through the final four that year. We finished 3rd in the polls if I recall.
