Hey everybody,
I was just curious where everyone goes/went to get an oil change when in ames. I've gone to the Jiffy Lube on Duff the last few times and the prices there just seem way out of line to me. Where do you go, what does it cost, and do you need an appointment?

I still take mine to Campus Garage on Lincoln Way/Hyland. It's usually a little more than most of the places, but I also know that they aren't going to tell me there are things wrong with my car that aren't actually wrong. An Iowa State grad owns and runs the place with friends and family. Good people...

I agree Hansen Sinclair is a good place to go very trust worthy. I do miss Sears where I could leave my car and go for a walk in the mall.

Yes, Hansen's is great. About $21 for oil change. They also do repairs and will pump your gas and clean your windshields, too. No kidding!

I usually always do it myself in the summer time, but when winter rolls around I take it to trickles, the garage floor is too cold. Plus anymore, it costs as much to buy the oil and filter as it does to take it somewhere.

Trickle's on Lincoln Way. They do good and affordable work, they're honest, AND they're Cyclone boosters. They're waiting area even has a bit of very unique Cyclone memorabilia.

Edit: Also, I would recommend Campus Garage if you drive a European vehicle.

Campus Garage is about the best place for car repair/maintenance in Ames. I would trust them with my first-born child. Highly recommended.
