My son lived in Mortensen last year. That place is a pit!

Yeah, it was a pit when I lived there 10 years ago. I'm sure it's even worse now, especially when you compare it to the on-campus apartments and suites that are available now.

1987-1988-ish: Oakwood apartments. That was about furthest south point of Ames (in that area anyway) at that time. Farm field directly south of the apartments.

1988-ish to 1992-ish: Apartments at 302 Hickory Dr (or something like that). They were new at that time and very nice.

1992-ish to 1994: The trailer park off of Lincoln Swing (College Park, or something like that).

Ames
1989-1992 - Helser Hall, Mortensen House

Greetings, fellow Mortensenian!

Fall '98 - Spring '00: Helser-Mortensen
Summer '00 - Spring '02: South Meadow Apartments on S 5th St.

Another Man of Mortensen here. Although I was a about a half to whole generation ahead of you two! Did you still have to chase the mice of MacDonald out of the halls?

And yeah, it was a pit (albeit a liveable pit) 30 years ago. Since it was first floor, seemed like half of SW Friley would cut through in the winter. Floors were always a mess this time of year. But it was our pit!
