They are both conspicuously missing from the most recent CNNSI Mock Draft. Any word on if they will be taking Spanish, French or Italian this summer?

Re: Where are Stinson and Blalock and Sampson?

Good question. However, we know where Kelvin Sampson sits who snuck out of Okahoma:

The NCAA on Thursday banned Indiana coach Kelvin Sampson from calling recruits and visiting them off-campus, ruling he deliberately broke NCAA rules by making extra phone calls to potential players while coaching Oklahoma.

The decision, announced by the committee on infractions, also requires Indiana to adopt the restrictions Oklahoma placed on Sampson, where he coached before Indiana hired him earlier this year.

It was not immediately clear if the Hoosiers would fire Sampson, who was in Kuwait and unavailable for comment. A message was left on the cell phone of Michael Glazier, Sampson's attorney.

It also was not clear whether the Hoosiers would face a scholarship loss, one of the sanctions Oklahoma imposed.

Very appropriate that Sampson is now a Big Ten coach. Looks like Alford might be mentioned again for Indiana if they fire Sampson.

I'm glad the NCAA sanctions are following around Sampson. There should be more of this and it would prevent coaches from jumping ship and leaving a mess behind them.

Not only did they penalize Indiana, they extended the Oklahome penalty through May 08 for oklahoma. No wonder all three recruits pulled out. 600-800 unauthorized calls was worth a total of about 2.5 years of penalties for Oklahoma and Indiana. Not too shabby. Kelvin made a 1.0M at oklahoma, will make at indiana this year $1.1M and in 2008 $1.4M. He came out smelling like a rose. He does not even have to recruit much to make his money....

Was listening to Jim Rome today and he commented how light of a punishment Sampson received. No phone calls, but can still email and text message if he wants. Plus, he could just have an assistant dial and hand the phone over. Pretty ludicrous. OK is the real loser here. Sampson pretty much gets of scot free...

I agree the punishment is light but I doubt he could have an asst dial and hand the phone to Sampson. No phone calls means no talking on the phone to recruits.

Maybe Kelvin Sampson will be Cell phone text messaging big time next year. He could send the same message out many directions to all the recruits. His recruiting might get better. Bobby Knight and Bob Huggins look clean compared to Kelvin escapades. Kelvin just got away with a gross recruiting episode and monetarily was rewarded. Hope the Hawkeyes can take a divot out of his resume as far as I am concerned. Just think if Dad Morgan had been able to make those extra 600 calls while recruiting last year - he would still have his job if no one had reported him. D-12 fiasco was minor compared to Kelvin's Open Season on recruits.
