When was the last time you wore a tie?

2016. My wedding.

I don't see wearing one for another decade either

Probably 4 or 5 times a year. Occasionally go to places that require business formal attire, then the odd funeral or wedding.

Christmas party. I have three Christmas ties and one Halloween tie that I don't get to wear anymore so pulled one out for X-mas. I probably have 50 ties but as a retired dude I'll wear most again. Gotta chuckle at the collection because they range from really narrow ties to wide to "regular", spans 40 decades of styles.
40 decades? I'd love to see some of those ties from the 1600's.

It's been a couple of years. Usually only on formal night when I'm on a cruise with my wife. She likes to get all dressed up for it and I'm fine with playing along if she lets me take all that off of her later in the evening. I actually need to get all that crap dug out for a work trip in a couple weeks though we're hitting up the Magic Castle in LA and they apparently have a dress code.

Wore a tie to most of the weddings I've attended in the last few years and for my new headshot at work.

Can't think of a time in the last 5 or 6 years that I've worn a tie other than weddings and funerals.

Now I like a good tie! Just not a thing anymore really and not remotely something I'd wear in my company.

A wedding earlier this year for me. I'm in my early 30s and have wore a tie for work maybe 10 times in my life. Hard to imagine a time where dudes were suited up every single day - that would get old
Early in my career I worked for a couple of places that made us dress up every day. What a dumb Idea. You wear your jacket into the office, hang it up, and put it back on when you leave. Your pants always wore out way before the jacket. Just as clothing stores started selling suits with 2 pairs of pants, professional apparel became less formal.

Last week.
I don't have a formal dress code for work, but I will wear one every other week or so when the mood hits.
Bowties will also make appearances, but are less regular.

A NYE Black Tie wedding a year ago. Before that, not a clue. If in the office we have a "dress for your day" policy so unless you are meeting with customers 99% will be in polos and jeans or such.

I got ridiculed for planning to wear a tie to my wife's grand fathers funeral last year. I think I we settled/agreed upon a dress shirt and jacket (it was around this time of year so the jacket was definitely appreciated at the grave site. I had a SIL that wore jeans with those tears and crap in them, apparently walking into the building wasn't the time to say "man you guys weren't joking about casual." ;)

It’s been years. For a more formal look I generally wear a v neck merino sweater or sweater vest over my dress shirts with a jacket. Layering with a sweater gives lots of options if I want to take jacket off vs walking around with just a shirt and tie. Picked that trick up from some coworkers in the UK while traveling for meetings in Europe with them. The sweater holds the collar in place so it doesn’t look sloppy and the tie wouldn’t be visible much anyways. Once they showed me this I’ve never looked back.

Obviously times of year that can be tough to do due to heat. Then I’ll just go shirt and jacket.

I had some professional pictures last week, but usually just a few times a year I wear a tie. Church events, funerals, formal dinner fundraisers. The tie will only stay on for a couple of hours max.

I do sometimes enjoy dressing up a bit for different events. It might be that I dress so casual most days that dressing up is a nice change of pace.

What I really hate about wearing the tie is buttoning the top button on the dress shirt. I only have a handfull of dress shirts and my neck gets a little fatter every time I put one on. One of these days I'm going to be SOL when I need to wear a coat and tie to something.

In another thread the length of Trump's ties was brought up. Made me think the last time I wore a tie. Would have been a few yrs ago when I was a wedding reception host for my nephew.
Sometime in the early 2000s I think they really fell out of favor.

A few months ago at one of my favorite events, daddy daughter dance!

I don't mind wearing ties. Whether I wear one to an event where you may find people wearing ties depends on how blasted hot it is, and my mood at the time.

It’s been a few years. I’ll wear a tie to a funeral if I’m one of the pallbearers or family, otherwise it tends to be khakis and a polo shirt for weddings and funerals that I’m not a participant in

For me it was definitely a funeral a couple of months ago for a friend, and before that another funeral for my uncle. For both I went in a complete suit with tie.

But I have to point out that even at both funerals, including at a Catholic church, I was surprised how many men went without either a jacket or a tie.

These days for most everything else that's semi formal I will roll with at most a button up shirt and a sport coat plus jeans if I can pull that off, or slacks.
