I don't know if he's a better defender as in he knows how to defend better (like Rashon for example). He has a much better reach and is quicker which allows his defensive position to be better just from a physical aspect, but I wouldn't say he's MUCH better. A minute point, but either way I think he should be in there.

He is a much defender in that he understands the concept of TEAM defense much more than Huluska. Haluska gets up in his man's grill every second, even 40 feet from the ball. He NEVER helps and can't fight through a screen. Boozer seems to understand the 'ball-you-man' concept much better and is able to create more havoc that way...

This gets me to a MUCH bigger I problem I am having with our guard play which came into play last night... I think I might post it on another thread though...

Yeah, I've been meaning to have a discussion about our guard play, but with a bazillion threads on the game and team I couldn't think of a good spot. Oh well, I'm not down on our team. I see our team's troubles for what they are... point guard play. Have trouble brining the ball up, dribble penetration, defense, quickness, entry passes.... that's about it... Teams with 2 good quick guards are going to kill us this year. Even if Clark is in charge of defending one, the other other would still be open.

We all know you want Coach McDermott to win a national championship this year or he should be fired. Maybe you could win 1 of those Coach of a Day auctions and tell GMac exactly what he is doing wrong instead of continually bash him on an internet message board.

I would bet I could put a more competitive, entertaining team on the floor than the crap we have seen this year.

By the way, I'm not calling for GMAC's head. Please be clear on that. I do question his coaching thought process. It has me befuddled.

Also, please find me the thread where I ever even expected this team to make the NIT this year. You know what...you won't find it, because my expectations are realistic. I did not expect to win last night, but I certainly didn't expect to get blown out and have seen zero improvement through the first 7 games this year. At BEST, I was hoping for a .500 record and a team that played hard that the crowd could fall in love with. Instead I'm left hugging the big white telephone from puking in disgust from what I've seen.

the only thing I dont like about boozer right now is he always just shoots the three. He doesn't try to drive in or kick it out. He just either shoots the three or passes it back to the pg
