My first game was in 1994 I believe against Rice. Troy Davis' first game that he saw action. I believe he broke like a 23 yard run up the middle on a draw play. Rained I believe, but a good time for sure. Also remember getting almost ran over by then AD Gene Smith in his forest green Tahoe as he sped thru the parking lot on the south end. Great memories that's for sure!

9/11/76 we beat Drake 58-14. Home opener of one of the best Iowa State seasons ever- finishing 8 and 3. No Bowl. Back then only about 14 bowls. I was like 11.

First official varsity game was September 27, 1969. Cyclones played Brigham Young, and won. We lost every conference game that year except for one. We beat Kansas. (Actually, the first Cyclone game, that I watched was a week or two earlier. Back then they played freshman games. Had to go watch George Amundson.)

I went to a game at Clyde Williams Stadium in the '70s when I was 6 or 7. I went with my Grandpa and Dad. I don't remember who we played or if we won. All I remember is that there was a streaker that ran across the field during the game.

1959 Against Nebraska

ISU had a single wing offence led by Dave Hoppman who became an All American.

Nebraska had a great running back as well named Bill Thunder Thornton

Holy **** are some of you old!

I believe mine was in 1997? against Baylor. All I remember was the goal posts leaving Jack Trice Stadium.

Man, I remember defending those jerseys at the time, but now I am so glad we don't have those uniforms anymore. I don't want to call them ugly but man those are ugly.

I defended them, too. It probably wouldn't even be too bad if the jersey numbers were traditional — that raised-block/drop-shadow look, whatever it's called, is horrible.

Helmets with that logo look worse and worse as time passes.

I played bridge last year with a guy who played for Clay Stapleton. He graduated the year before the Dirty 30 team. He is still in great shape and was a tough opponent at bridge so the leather helmets must have done their job.

Don't remember the year. But ISU vs Baylor...Seneca Wallace had most consecutive completions in a game or something to that nature. Got in the locker room after and have an autographed wristband from that game, pretty sweet.

2009, ISU 34 - NDSU 17.

Honestly, before I toured the college and joined the marching band, I had no idea ISU existed. Course, I was in IL where the Illini reigned supreme, with the occasional Hawk fan running around. Big Ten country.

I've righted my ways, though.

First game would have been in the fall of 1981 when I was 2, that was the first year my family got season tickets. Obviously have no clue who it was against and if ISU won or not. Other than a 5 year stretch during college when I played football at a D2 school I haven't missed many games since.

I'm still amazed at how packed the hillsides are now, when I was a kid I used to go play in pickup football games on the hillsides because there was literally no one sitting on them.

1991 vs Colorado and 1992 vs. Nebraska have to be two of the most memorable for me along the way.

Forget what year it was, but my dad took me to go see the Cyclones play OU at Jack Trice. This was the Switzer, Bosworth crew. I remember watching the teams walk out for warm ups, seeing the boz, and my mouth dropping. those were the days. still have the pic of me and my dad standing next to the old statue of Cy. If I remember that was located at the north end zone behind the bleachers, right?

One of Bosworths trips to Ames I remember half the team running out on the field with both middle fingers up with the Bos leading the way.
