I triple boot Windows 7, Snow Leopard, and Ubuntu 14.04
Windows is for gaming, office applications, and GIS software (ArcGIS, IDRISI, ERDAS).
Snow Leopard is what I use primarily for the bioinformatics work I do (it requires a fair amount of programming). I use this when I want to write code, but still want to have access to Microsoft Office programs.
I use Ubuntu when something is too much of a pain in the *** to do under Snow Leopard. Despite OS X being Unix based, the programs I need to use often just work better under Ubuntu, or compile with fewer issues for various reasons. If Microsoft would release a version of Office to work under Linux I would never use the Mac operating system again (but I know this will never happen).
