Maddy in...Moody out. That's the line right now unless Moody makes a quicker recovery from the virus.

if moody is out expect to see the guard rotation you saw durin the last game. Coach is hoping the Frosh will be aolid, but let the upper classmen carry the load. Sill, nice to see Coach expressing confidence in the new kids!

As you can imagine, Ellis is earning more playing time.

I feel bad for Moody with this virus. I am sure she is dying to play. Still, it will be good to get the freshman some extra experience. It will just be interesting to see how this plays out. Basketball is here!

Not like he can go to a pair of his senior guards!

Bill said after the second exhibition that Moody said she was feeling great. I'm guessing (hoping?) this is just a precaution since she's missed plenty of practice time and probably needs a little time to get back in playing shape.

He said she felt great and then had a relapse. It was very up and down kind of thing and therefore day to day. Sounded very doubtful for Sunday. Said he would judge her in practice today and make a decision. Fortunately the young guards have been playing well enough to cover for her.

Maddy in...

Maybe Coach has some good feelings about getting a big commit by putting Maddy in for some experience and effectively "de-reshirting" her.

I think pushing the talented Em and Kidd in Nikki's absence is actually going to be a good thing.

Em already knows who the money player ison this team. She's always looking for Pop,
even in the corner for a three.

And Prins still has no strength or jumping ability, in spite of finally being healthy.

The guards are inexperienced on defense. They are having trouble guarding Western Illinois three point game. They are going to have to learn pretty fast because they seem unconscious hitting three point shots with no pressure. I am worried because there is no doubt that we could lose this one. They just seem scrappier getting loose balls, Prins hands aren't good and they keep knocking the ball out of her hands and others. We are down 2 at half-time. We are too dependent on young players without Moody. We don't have the three point shooting proficiency of some other teams also. We'll see what happens.

Another 3 from Kidd 9 assists from Em. Also 6 pts 5 steals and just 2TO's

I will say that Kidd has a really quick release on her threes. Don't think she will have too much trouble getting that shot off this year. BTW, Western Illinois has played pretty good basketball.

We needed that 21 rebound edge with the 47% field goal percentage we gave up. I don't think coach will be very happy with the D this afternoon. All and all, a great experience for the new kids.
