Was it media circus because they were ranked #6? Or just ISU fans excited to be there? I guess if it's actual pregame stuff I don't know what ISU does that is so circus-like that isn't done by other Big 12 schools. Not sure, he was complimentary after that saying we played lights out and complimented Heacock but that was certainly odd
WVU's version of Randy Peterson asking him about Justin Crawford was awkward
Yeah cause it's not like they all played on the same field under the same conditions. Bunch of whiney b******.lol ok. If it wasn't so slippery then David would of had about 600 yards
I've never seen more linguistic tap dancing than that interview. 'We got beat by a far superior team,' is what actually said if you remove the stupid sugar coating. What other conclusion can you draw from: effort was there, attitude was good, nothing special from opponent, they blocked and tackled better. So you're saying without saying it that ISU beat you straight up without any anomalies and they were obviously the better team, and everyone on their schedule should be cowering in fear after that performance. Was it media circus because they were ranked #6? Talking about how the day went/how the team "felt":
prep was normal
attitude at hotel was on point, engaged
"The, the pregame although it, it, it, , it appeared to me like, it was a circus -- I-mean-it -- there, there was a buzz --which -- y'-know they played that up big, as we all know, we knew they were going to. Uh, it had circus uh qualities to it. As much as that was going on around there but uh "
good warmup
locker room good
hit the field ready to play
sidelines during the game was good
played without having lows
played without having lack of effort
Basically was asked if there was anything good from Saturday and he went through the fact that their attitude was good, had the circus comment, and ended by saying "I mean we got whooped, there's no way around it we got our butt beat but there wasn't any effort issues -- so that's a positive, but other than that, that's it"
"They blocked and tackled better than we did."
The press conference right after the game Holgorsen said something like (going from memory): It's not like ISU magically came up with the perfect defense to stop us. We were bad.
The WVU message board is quite the place . Half the people respect the beating we gave them and the other half thinks our field crew made the field slippery on purpose, we were cheating, we'll be in the Sunbelt (?) in a few years, etc.
There were many comments made about we don't deserve to be in the big 12. Interesting.
Yeah, and the half that thinks we cheat and don't deserve being in the Big 12 can smoke my musket. The WVU message board is quite the place . What the hell is this circus crap Dana is referring to?
Kinda like the Gator Aid Shower. Not so cool anymore. Coaches don't like it. AM thinking the same thing will happen to the field rush. The field rush after OSU and TCU was definitely a more spectacular, buzzer beater fashion style. In fairness, when it is a beat down, I am not sure a field rush is deserved, nor is there the same feeling of euphoria. Maybe, IMO, it has run its course.
