While we are excited about the hiring of T.J. Otzelberger as our new MBB head coach, I'd like to create this separate thread by giving my warmest welcome to our favorite Australian WBB Cyclone Alison "Aus" Lacey Otzelberger.

Welcome home Aus! It's great to have you back to the Cyclone family!

Aus is one of my all-time favorite CycloneWBB players. It's because of her that I became a die-hard CycloneWBB fan. I will never forget her making one of the biggest shots in our program history in the victory against Michigan State in the 2009 Sweet Sixteen game. I'm sure she will make a great contribution to both men's and women's programs. I hope she could serve as a color commentator as Lyndsey does in some of our WBB games.

Here are some old photos and videos of Aus. Please share your memories and stories about Aus.

Here's the latest Alison Lacey interview with John Walters. It's so nice to listen to her talking in that Aus accent again.

Some quick notes from the interview.

● She's really excited about coming back to Ames.

● She's is still in Vegas.

● She has a vivid memory of the 2009 Michigan State game. It's the pressure defense ISU applied in the last minute that won the game.

● She watched almost every game ISU has played this season, would send her notes to Jodi after games.

Plus possibly wanting to stay out of the fishbowl (as this thread has proven exists).

If this were her concern she wouldn't be a good coach any way. "Fish Bowl" is what a major College Coach inhabits day-in., day out. And, the good ones win in situ.
