I was nervous about a custom ROM too, but I couldn't be happier with the one I have. My phone does everything I want.

If you have GPS enabled, there is a great free turn by turn GPS program called 'Amaze GPS'. I strongly suggest it. It will make your phone just as good as any store bought GPS and do it for free.

I use Esmertec JBed. What emulator are you using?

I've been using Amaze GPS since the Alpha version. It is a cool app, and the Beta is much better than the Alpha was.

The Mobile Beta is a real browser. Since you are ok with a proxy and like fast then Skyfire is better.

Yeah, I like the Proxy, mini is much faster than Skyfire though.
