I was wondering if any of you have made it to see the new sports movie "We Are Marshall"?

For those who aren't aware, Matthew McConaughey plays the Marshall University coach Jack Lengyel who reserected their football program in 1971 following a plane crash in 1970 killing the entire football team.

It might not be as inspirational as Rudy or Invincible but I thought it was a pretty good movie even though the reviews weren't great (which normally means to me, I'll like it!).

Anyone else have any opinion on it?

I was listening to the guy sub-ing for Cotlar this morning talking to John Pascuzzi doing their weekly movie review and they talked about that movie. I thought it was cool that Ryan Sloth, former cornerback(??) for ISU has a part in the movie with a few speaking parts even. There might have been a thread about this earlier.

I've wanted to see it since I first heard about the movie. Hope to see it soon

Here is the link from KCCI about Sloth's appearance.

My roommate and her boyfriend saw this last night and she liked it.

i thought invincible was really drawn out and boring to be honest...some cool scenes, but nothing like rudy.....and lets not forget mathew fox(from the BEST SHOWER EVER: LOST!) is in we are marshall...making for a great cast

Just went to see "we are" "Marshall!" yesterday. I really enjoyed it, its a tearjerker - not that I cry - but a very enjoyable experiance. I'm no movie critic, but I definately felt it was worth the price of admission.

I saw it Tuesday night and it's heavy on the drama and light on the football. If you've ever tried to convince your girlfriend/wife that there's more to college football than just the game, it will help you illustrate your point.

Hat's off to Marshall for losing 70 players + coaches, AD, and boosters, and coming back to put a team on the field the following season.
