WBB RPI from NCAA

Thought I would post the link to the NCAA rankings/RPI page. The new list came out yesterday and Iowa State is 6th this week, up from 30th last week.

It will take a hit, win or lose, after the Tech game on Wednesday. Tech's RPI is barely above 200. They've had some really bad losses and are by far the lowest rated team in the league. It's no reason to take them lightly, but this is not a good team (clearly there was a reason why Coach Curry bailed on the Lady Raiders).

a loss certainly would impact our RPI in a negative way, but I think our RPI will be more impacted by our good noncon opponents. I like for Cincinnati, Auburn, and Iowa to go up by end of year, which will be best for us tourney time.

Cincinnati held UCONN to their lowest points of the season. Auburn is doing well, and North Dakota will probably stay strong.

For ISU, we need Iowa to get their crap together. Their RPI has fallen about 15 spots over their string of losses.

I like RealtimeRPI also. It lets you do look at more data - by school, by conference, by schedule. They also update (in theory) every day. Went with NCAA cuz they had us a notch higher.

Baylor has yet to beat one team in the top 100. Their only game against a top 100 team was KY, that was that quad overtime game.

Really miffed at Mechelle Voepel for attacking ISU's "cupcake" schedule, when, in fact Baylor's noncon was abhorrent.

Much like ISU's conference schedule, Baylor's back loaded as well. 8 of their last 10 games are against the top half of the league, WVU, OU, ISU, Texas, OSU.

Yup, Baylor schedule has been a joke but who had the sweetest non conference cupcake won't be relevant at the end of the season. We will have to beat Baylor before we can beat their “statusâ€￾ based ranking. Beat ‘em two or three times and we can prove we are better. Like it or not (and I don’t) Baylor owns a 42 game winning streak in league play. It’s like fighting the heavyweight champ, you have to knock ‘em out.

In addition to the NCAA RPI, these are popular ones, including realtimerpi as already noted. The format gets lost in the copying, but you get the general info. ISU is relatively consistently rated in the top 10 among some programs that are routinely there.

As noted, it will be interesting to see how this plays out through the season, both what we have control over, and what we don't. We are in a bit different situation, as we have usually been trying to move up in RPI with what we have control over.
