Go Twister Sisters! A big opportunity here. Even just a good showing can improve your perception to those who matter.

I think they are past the "good showing" portion of the season. Unranked, no quality wins in the non-con and only 4 more games against ranked opponents, with 2 of those being on the road. They have to start putting together some wins or that resume is going to look really weak in March.

Nothing this team has shown me thus far suggests that a win tonight is in the offing. Let's just see progress and being in this game rather than another USC performance.

I get it-- I'd prefer they don't get completely housed like they did against South Carolina. But I also think it's worth recognizing the somewhat precarious position they are in with conference play coming. They wont be able to afford more than maybe a few letdowns, and will need to pick off a couple quality opponents.

LSU and Seton Hall are the opener, at 5:00. Both games are on FS1.

For those who watched the Iowa game, the analyst is the same. PBP is the guy who called FB vs K-State.

I believe this will be another blow out. Hopefully not as bad SCAR.

This Non-con has been a clear reputation that we belong in the top levels of the sport. In hindsight it was probably a bad idea to try to play 3 of 4 final four participants.

Not expecting a win... but hoping to keep it interesting and seeing some improvement going into the Big 12 season.

Based on the games this year, I see 3 keys:

1) Foul trouble, especially for Addy. When she is on the floor it makes a gigantic difference to the team.
2) Shots going down. Some of this is about good shots versus rushed shots or bad shots. Not all will go in, but time to shoot out of our minds.
3) Adapting the offense. Can’t just force it in to Audi or keep shooting 3s all night if they aren’t dropping. Drive the lane a bit and move.

This will be key, can we do something that UCONN isn't expecting? Cutting to the basket would be a big surprise as we haven't done that all year.

anyone else thinks its funny when people say the reason we don't play the Iowa state versus iowa games on the weekend (where it should be) is because of finals week?
and yet, Women are in Connecticut today, etc.

Good luck today ladies. probably going to need some.

You'll have to talk to Iowa about that. It was their "policy change" that buggered the whole thing 20 years ago. ISU was fine with playing on Saturday.

Good to know. Thanks! with how much school these athletes miss, i am just surprised they have that rule in play.

Especially when playing on a week night guarantees that at least some of your team will be missing some class time in the week before finals while playing on Saturday would avoid that.

Bingo. Writing this team off because they have two losses to Top 25 teams is ridiculous. Likely, this team is a 20+ win team and will easily be in the dance. They have ONE bad loss in the non-con (UNI) that really negatively impacts their resume. Remember, USC dismantled TCU nearly as badly as they did ISU. Let’s take it a game at a time and hope that we see continued growth as the season progresses. That will be the true measuring stick of this team…not an aberration like the UNI game.

Addy needs to figure out that she needs to be careful about fouls with fouls 1 and 2, not just after she gets her second. In that last game she was in foul trouble she gave up a careless foul or two and then appears to be careful after that only to get a bull **** charge call. It happens, that is why you don't just give away any of your fouls, especially when you are critical to you team's success. People can gripe about that charge call, but it is just a minor inconvenience if she doesn't give up easy, no brainer call fouls earlier in the game.

I don't think 'not expecting a win on the road against a top 5 team' = 'writing this team off.'

I don’t know if I’ll phrase this right but we need to get to the point where Brown is the star player that needs lots of touches and Crooks is just a 25 point/game complementary player.

I don't think that is correct. They need to play through Crooks when the defense is allowing it, but when she is triple teamed find the open player. Playing through her doesn't necessarily mean she is getting a ton of shots. If the right play is to kick it out, so be it. But make the right play rather than taking it to the hole when the advantage is outside.

I do like it when they hustle the ball and Addy down the floor while Audi and her defender are still making their way down and post Addy up against her defender. It is a good way to get cheap baskets and maybe hang a couple of fouls on their best/biggest guard defender.
