Well, that sort of shifts this to a 50/50. Tough break for Bears with them trying to win the conference title.
I'm gonna sound crazy here, but I don't think it will make much difference as far as Baylors scoring is concerned. The team is 7 deep, not 7 super stars, but 7 practically equal players and another one that has recently been showing up with good help. They've played several games without Buggs this year and Fontelroy just seems to go off when she's not in. Likewise Walker and Matharu pick up their pace and Yaya Felder often does the same. Buggs is the top scorer but when she's on the bench it doesn't seem to hurt this team. However when Vonleh (post) goes out with foul trouble or has a bad game you can notice a significant difference in their production.
Note: In the 5 losses (Oregon, UCLA, Indiana, OSU, TCU) Vonleh averaged 6 points. She is averaging 14.5 for the season. So in their wins she clips at 16 ppg,
I have believed for quite some time that BU had the most balanced 5 starters of any team in the league. I thought KSU and TCU had 3 better players but not as much depth. Of course Lee went out for KSU and they really felt it. TCU almost all year has been Van Lith, Prince & Conner, however in Ames Prince was almost a non factor but two no shows showed up for them that day (of all the luck). I hear that Lee may play today. We'll see if she's really back or just testing the water. If Iowa State would hit on all 5 cylinders today they could win this game. I don't think you can beat them with 2 players, all 5 need to pull their weight. ALSO - there could be some coaching decisions or lack thereof that could weigh into the matter as well. So welcome to the mediocre/unpredictable Big12.
