@geewago, you picked a really good yr to not come up. You might have been able to beat it back south, but it's no fun up here tonite the whole NW corner of the state has pulled the snowplows and been called a no travel area. You guys did have a nice turnout at the game though. Only one I talked to on the way out lives in Des Moines though LOL.

Juicy played right here in Waco in a little 3-a school. Shes a very steady player and a super sweet girl. Didi was slightly off today - yes, but she is primarily a defensive stopper. She has an awkward shot but can hit with it fairly well (usually). And yes she is very good at drawing fouls as she is quite the comedian and actor. As you know, wbb refs are fooled very easily. They can see a doodlebug but miss an elephant.

ISU should finish 2nd in the conference. WV lost today and they still have to play BU. TX comes to Waco Monday night. BU usually gets high as a kite for that one. Assuming they win, it's all in your hands my friend. Just beat TX in Austin and the sisters are the # 2 seed in OKC.
Juicy is a great addition for the three point threat that I feel is usually missing for Baylor. I watched BU warm up and thought Didi's shot was awful but if it goes in who cares.
I think the ladies will end up 2nd, 3rd at worst.
Bill wanted that T. He came flying off the bench. It worked as it give the girls a spark. Where were Ashley and Maddie today? That I think hurt the most. Really helped that WV lost but they still have to play K-State too which won't be easy.

Baylor has by far the best defense in the conference and maybe the best in the country, right in there with UCONN. When they only allow 55 points a game and we score at an 82 point clip (Big 12) something is going to give and it's likely going to be the 82 points clip as much as the 55. Maddie has zero points in two games against them and Joens has 4 points in each. No sure everyone appreciates the Baylor defense while just look at the scoring margins.

Should be back scoring again at Tech. Marlene Stollings brought her run and gun no defense style from Minnesota to Tech and hopefully that will let us just run all over them again. The style certainly suits us if we remember to play a little defense along the way.

Maddie seemed really hesitant to shoot yesterday hopefully it was just a hiccup.

I was also wondering if something else was going on with Maddie as she was on the bench a lot. I figured that was Bill going with two bigs because Cox was too hard/tall for her to guard.

Dont know why Scott was hesitating on her shot all game....thought Ines gave good minutes. Thought Brenda was spot on that ISU was too tight to start and got in too big of a whole to start.

Baylor played good D but ISU missed several bunnies and good looks from 3

Ashley will be just fine. She is an outstanding player; has hit a bit of a dry spell, but I think folks sometimes forget how big a jump it is from high school to P5 WBB. Of course, Ashley has the benefit of playing for the national team. In any case, I suspect we will be saying very big things about her over the next 3 years.

As for Maddie, she will also be a big part of Cyclone WBB going forward. She has a great motor and her defense is outstanding. And her scoring will come along.

Baylor plays very intimidating ball. They even try to intimidate the refs - or is that just whining? I was impressed that the ladies came back as well as they did, but it was too big of a hole.

Sat behind the basket in the second half. I think Baylor's defense was really disruptive of our shooting rhythm. It wasn't that we weren't open, but there was always a Baylor player closer than usual. It was a combination of some of them being taller than usual and some being quicker than usual (or maybe just able to play out farther because of the height inside). I think it threw us off a bit. Rather than just letting it fly after a few passes that lead to open shots, we were thinking too much about whether we were really open or not, even when we were open. Lots of shots were way short.

I was at the game and our seats are close to the floor. I think it is both plus they feel they never foul they only get fouled. One thing I really admire about our women is that when they get called for a foul they just (most times) say OK got a foul and go on. There are a couple teams that make faces, and challenge the refs when they are called for a foul. A former ref who sits near me said that one thing that could hurt Baylor in the big dance is officials who call a close game and don't like being questioned by players.

PS: Looking at the stats that was our worst game shooting ,. Baylor's 31.7 % from the field and with an 18.5% from three. Baylor's defense was much of the issue as KM said in the post game they wanted to stop our 3's.

Agree - was very disappointing when the male ref allowed one Baylor player to tell him that his call was BS (used the real phrase) and another hit him with an F bomb after a call.

Again looking at stats for the 15 conference games so far Baylor is avg. 78.9 on off and 55.5 on def. ISU is avg. 81.6 off and 68 def. Another item, in the post game a reporter asked KM who should be player of the year, of course her answer Kalani Brown. Head to head stats from the two games: KB avg 31 min and 16 points, Bridget 39.5 min and 28 points as CBF said stated POY should be BC

After Miami beat FSU Crème put them back as a 3 seed and ISU as the first 4 seed (switch 12/13 spot)

Kim is the queen of theatrics of "Wrong calls" She's usually in the coaches box though (I think). Wouldn't be a bit surprised to see one of their players get T'd up in the tourney if they don't have enough sense to hush up after a ref warns them.
