I still think it would be fun to trade one of those wins for a victory over OU or Texas. That would be historic, ESPN and the national media would have a hay day over that season if it happened for ISU.

I probably would prefer that, too, if it was going to be a 10-2 season (I can't even fathom that, but it's fun to imagine).

If ISU was 10-2 or even 9-3, I have a feeling OU or UT would be one of the wins. The next rung below it (most likely Iowa, NU, Missouri, Tech) I see at least two losses, even if things go really well.

Texas Tech - Offensive Battle, Arnaud has one of his best games ever. 35-31 W
Utah - Tough fought game, but can't see us winning. Offense struggles. 17-27 L
@Oklahoma - Well, it's Oklahoma. I think we have a legit shot to win either this OR the texas game. Will we..? I don't know. 20-38 L
@Texas - We put up a real fight. But it is at Texas. 23-27 L

LOL! If I knew for sure that Iowa would have only a 2-loss season in 2010 ... I'd be a happy man. Of course, I'd be a little disappointed that it was just a tad better ... but I'd get over it.

However, given ISU's losses on D and given the schedule ... a 2-loss ISU season is more than a little outlandish.

The only thing this defense will miss is Jesse Smiths mentality and football smarts in the middle. But I have a lot of faith is Tau'fo'ou stepping up in the middle. Also having Klein and Knott next to him on the outside that is athletically a huge upgrade over last years LB corps.

Klein and Knott probably do have more potential which hopefully is brought out with more experience and playing time. I'll be satisfied, however, if either one plays next year at the level that Fred Garrin did last year. He had a very solid year.

This isn't a thread about "you're not a true Cyclone fan if you don't want ISU to win every game.". Of course every Cyclone fan wants to win every game. This, however, is a thread about what we think IS going to happen, and if you honestly think ISU is realistically going undefeated this year, then you are absolutely insane.

Agreed. Garrin quietly had a good year for us on the outside. We're going to miss Smith, Garrin, and Lyle. I hope Wally can put the new guys in position to be a solid defense. I'm concerned this defense may get beat up.
