We have installed cheap Wyze cameras that point at our porch in the past, but we high-level kicked around getting a video doorbell. I’ve been doing a bunch of research, and reviews are all over the place from a technical standpoint, so I was hoping to get reviews from people who might actually have experience with one.

My requirements:

- Battery-powered
- Works seamlessly with Echo Show 15 (although an included chime would be nice)
- Ideally free or inexpensive person/package detection
- Ideally a small footprint
- I am not going to be mad if it is inexpensive

Does anybody have any recommendations, by any chance? I would be super grateful!

We don't have their doorbell but rest of house/yard has Eufy wifi cameras. We have a local storage system, no monthly payments.
I've been VERY happy with them.
Battery life has been solid.

We use Blink, with the local storage option. Pretty decent, no major complaints and seems to fit most of your listed needs.

I was wondering if it worked pretty well - it is definitely cheaper than Ring!

Why is battery powered important?

Mostly just don’t want to deal with ripping out what is there and playing with installation.

I have read a ton good about them - do you have the Hub thing for the cameras? Do you need it?

I think they can be stand along. Homebase 2 is what we have. It's basically a 16gig local hard drive.

I have a AOSU and it works great.

Thanks so much - I am going to research!

I've really liked my Nest Hello (wired)

I have seen that their new Google nest doorbell has a wireless feature and that was one of the ones I was wondering about! It sounds like they have a lot of features for free included.

Thank you! I was curious about that. I saw some that were wireless that run on battery, and some that were solar! That was kind of cool, too!

I have solar on my shed camera, has always worked well.

What the hell do you need one for? You live among the cake eaters in Ames.

You just made me burst out laughing. The nice thing about our neighborhood is nobody knows it is down here!

It's really not a bad install if you have an existing doorbell. Wiring is low voltage even. Two wires to connect and your done. Plus - your chime will still work.

Not exactly sure.
We have blink. Only negative is I wish the range was a little better. Does enough but doesn’t pick up until halfway up the driveway at most.

The Google Doorbell Battery gets very unhappy when it gets cold out. We got one before they offered the new design with a wired only version, wired it in, and it still gives us low battery warnings when it's cold out.
