The Victory Bell always used to be outside the NW side of the stadium, in the grass a bit north of the gate on the west side of the Jacobsen Bldg. It was a landmark we used - "meet me by the Victory Bell".

At least I assume that is the Victory Bell - it was about 3-4 feet tall and sat there forever.

But it was moved 2 or 3 years ago, IDK where it is now.

Pretty sure this is a different bell.

The Bell outside JTS has been there since 1976 and was in Beardshear Hall before that. Drake apparently has a trophy that's called the Victory Bell that used to go to the winner of the ISU-Drake game

It is. As I helpfully clarified on Twitter:

This Victory Bell isn't Iowa State's Victory Bell that replaced an earlier Victory Bell, nor Drake's Victory Bell that replaced an earlier Victory Bell, but a Victory Bell trophy distinct from the Victory Bell trophy w/ other colleges w/ their own Victory Bell on campus. Got it?

The Victory Bell is a timeless, if rather unimaginative, tradition in football. Even Ames High and Boone High used to play for their own Victory Bell trophy.

In 1933 when it looked like Iowa and ISU would resume their series, a forgotten Victory Bell was found in a belfry in Iowa City and the teams proceeded to play for that trophy, but after the series fizzled out the following year, it vanished again.

The Drake Victory Bell was also forgotten for many years and for one game in the 1970s, the ISU AD was quoted as saying something like we can bring it back, if we can find it. Not sure if it was ever found.

At the Victory Bell peak, there were hundreds of trophies in play across the country in high school and college football.

I actually found a really rare video of the ISU/Drake Victory Bell being used last:

Man, that sucks that it's lost. Would love to just see it for the history.
