Looks like we need to be pulling for Baylor and OU in the coming weeks against the Horns.

I don't believe there is a tiebreaker. No need for one since there's no conference tourney. Just co-champs.

Unfortunately - we have tough tests left against NU and at A&M. And I don't really see Texas losing again. Hoping - but I will be SHOCKED.

That win was enormous for us. But at the same time, I think we may have done UT a huge favor.

Does she have longer hair now?

Looks like a girl I saw talking to CJL after - I think the CU match - a few weeks back.

I saw in the paper the Knuth girl from Johnston announced her commitment to ISU. With Taylor already there, I supposed that was never much in question.

Sounds like we got two seniors signing next week. One from Cedar Falls or Waterloo (can't remember which) and the other from Dike New Hartford.

Back to Haley - I'll admit I'm HUGELY biased - but after knowing a bit of what I know about Cooke at NU, and seeing the antics that the UT coach put on last night (and hearing what I heard) - I don't know how you can't look at those two, then look at CJL and see the easy choice. Particularly when the success levels in the recent years isn't all that different. I'm sure Christy can have her moments. I'm sure she's tough as nails at times. But she is NOT those two....

I hope this young lady stongly considers such things - even if it's not ISU in the end.

I don't know if she has attended any matches at Hilton or not.
Getting Eckerman would be an example of what CJL says is the "next level" of recruits.

Raises the ante for the NU match just a bit more, doesn't it?

Pretty much lock up #2 in the conference, at worst. IMO - shore up a #2 seed in NCAAs and host first two rounds.

And perhaps pull a bit ahead in that recruting war with NU

The draw at Texas I'm sure is not Elliott - it's his assistant.
You see, the biggest coaching news this past off-season was assistant Salima Rockwell leaving Penn State for Texas. She is a great assistant coach, and if you watched closely last night, did most of the real "coaching" for Texas, especially during timeouts.
She has taken Ashley Engle, a first-team all-Amercia outside hitter and made her basically a setter this season. And Engle is excited about it.

I'm sure you're right. But that doesn't change my point. Assistants are more often the ones that are here today, gone tomorrow. And in the end, the HC swings the stick. And is the one that will impact you the most.

...Haley Eckerman, who is already, as a Waterloo East junior, the best prep volleyball player in Iowa history... Maybe ISU is back in the picture...

Whoa - best in Iowa history?? I've been coaching and officiating for 20 years, and I've never heard of her. I can think of a few NCAA All-Americans she has to catch up to.
