I'll say ISU -6, but I think we cover. Naz will be our biggest cheerleader and have the good guys PUMPED!

It all depends on the start. UNI will attempt to turn this game into a drag it out slow it down dogfight and if they get hot on the 3's then it could be just like the Iowa game. ISU -2

Chris says we are going to lose. When did he become so negative about our basketball program? Says UNI will beat us, Burton isn't very good, Iowa will have more talent next year than us, and entertained the Naz transfer thing. Hopefully it's all just a radio thing.

Really? Well I guess the good news is Chris has shown us in the past he generally knows less about sports than the average fan.

I like Chris a lot. He's great for DSM sports radio, but I completely agree with this. He's gotten extremely negative about Cyclone sports in general. You would have thought after hiring Prohm and Campbell that he was near suicidal. I mean neither one appears to be a huge home run hire (yet), but he almost sounded depressed talking about them. I don't want him to sugar coat things, but with big changes and he seemed thoroughly unimpressed...that was a shock.

I'm thinking ISU -6.5. I don't think it will be pretty, but I'd bet on ISU to cover. UNI's offense is pretty much Washpun and a bunch of guys chucking up 3's, and I like ISU's chances against that in Wells Fargo.

I can't speak for the guy but it was obvious he really wanted TJ to get the job for basketball.

When rationalizing pro's/cons of the candidates he used Prohm's 104-29 record at Murray State as a negative.

If we're favored by more than 8, I'd take UNI. That seems too high. More often than not, we've struggled with UNI and at Wells Fargo in general.

We struggled in the 30 point beatdown of Drake last year? Ok, 4-0 in a building is struggling I guess.

Agreed. They knocked off UNC why couldn't they knock off us?

Not saying they can't beat ISU, but that was at home for UNI against a UNC team without Paige. It will be more difficult for them to beat ISU on a neutral floor.

4-0? Greg Odom disagrees with that.
Yea, I don't think it is a stretch to say we struggle there.

2005 Lost to Ohio State 70-67 (Ohio State was so-so)
2006 Lost to Bradley 76-66

2010 Struggled against a so-so Creighton
2013 Struggled against a horrible Drake team 84-77
2014 Struggled against UNI (Down 18 and won)

Also, Greg Oden didn't play at the Well.

Good call, I forgot about those early games. I think I was trying to block any pre-Hoiberg games from my memory. I attended both the Ohio State and Bradley games and Greg Oden was not at Ohio State that year.

Did he really say that?

I just remember McDermott had Corey Johnson matching up against some behemoth inside twice his size.

We haven't had enough 4-yr players in the last 15 years to have a good comp. They'll be more as we have more 3-4 year guys. Even Ejim had his rough spots before he became rafter-worthy.

I also think the Matt Thomas hate is being way overstated by some FWIW.
