It's been a quiet week in Big 12 women's basketball, but lots of overall action as auto-qualifiers are determined. Here's a look at the Big 12 before Selection Sunday. Not many surprises.

Is ISU going to get an NCAA bid? Last I saw they were the last 4 in, and I'm not sure if the league championships have changed anything.

For the past month Creme has stated all ISU needed to do was win the games "they were supposed to win." They did that and added the KSU win to their resume. I'd be shocked if they weren't in. Add to that the TV marketability of Crooks and Brown. That counts for something. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong, but as I said, I'd be shocked if they weren't in.

Creme just updated has them as an 11 seed, play in game vs Columbia in Lexington. Potential first round match up West Virginia? Is that possible, and horrible fir us if that's the 1st round draw.

If we don't make the tourney would we host WNIT games?

Strangely…there’s no one in that quad that overly worries me. Is Kentucky really good? They CAN be. The can also be beaten, I’d like to see that matchup.

Honestly it would be the West Virginia match up that worries me most.

Read the earlier post regarding the possibility of playing wvu. Not sure if this applies to the women’s tournament, but I’m pretty sure conference opponents can’t meet until the Sweet 16 at the earliest. I pretty sure the is the rule in the men’s tournament..

Only for teams that have played each other twice. Going to be some interesting regional choices since the SEC has a million teams likely in the tournament on the men's side. For teams that have only played once they only have to avoid a first round game.

Very true, plus we are playing better. Rather playing someone else though. No reason to have 2 conference teams play each other in round 1.

Going to be hard to work around that with as many team projected from the Big Ten and SEC when you have to factor in seeding that isn't skewed just to avoid matchups.

So make the Big 10 and SEC teams play first round. Should not be hard to place 7 teams in 4 regions to not have to play in round 1. In that bracket he has three other 6 seeds to play, non in the big 12. Seems like he is just filling in the bracket but not really thinking about it much.

Correct, playing west Virginia would be a first round game no? The play in game is not considered first round is it?

Would certainly seem like something they would, and could, avoid. Anyway, the brackets are just the Cremester's guess and other than the host teams the Sunday bracket wouldn't look like what's on bracketology.

So true…he's giving everyone something to talk about and provide his opinion as to how he gauges each team.
