"your Threads profile can only be deleted by deleting your Instagram account". I thought Google+ was the next big thing so.....

Meta seems a little too friendy with the government for my taste. I don't see that changing but I'm sure a lot of people will like that in their social media. It's good to have options/competition.

I’d take it over a CEO who publicly waxed poetic about handing Taiwan over to China on his third day and tweeted a known fake news source on first day.

Obviously I’m not a fan of either of them or Bezos but only one of them is overtly expressing radical opinions on their social platform daily.

So much less toxic than Twitter.

My first breeze through had nothing toxic unless I really drilled down into replies which is inevitable. Pretty good start based off casual IG use, need to add more sports.

On post fascist Twitter it’d be mostly QAnon, J6ers and oddly enough it thinks I want Scientology.

IG has never been as bad as those are. I’ve never used TikTok to know.

I guess it depends on your definition of toxic behavior.

I can see it being less of the hornets' nest of discord in our society but still features the addiction of needing to publicize our every move.

Disappointed Mastodon or something not controlled by a mega corporation didn’t take off.
The whole decentralized makeup means there’s too high of a learning curve to use it. Granted it’s easy, but not for the average adult nowadays.

Yep, plus they weren’t ready for it. If they could plan, maybe can put a pretty front end to hide it. No marketing and built in user base like Instagram.

I’ll add this is how you get privacy and more freedom online, go figure it fails.

Since I don’t use social media I had no idea Instagram’s user base was so much bigger than Twitter’s, and like 90% of Twitter’s is likely bots. Don’t have a clue on IG bots but I would think it would be tiny in comparison.
