2 things I noted. Beni Ngoyi is listed as a DB and Tyler Miller is officially coming back for has last year of eligibility.
Nogyi, if I've got it right, is gonna play cornerback. Correct?

Also back is Daniel Jackson, or is this old news. Did not know if it was a sure thing.

No, but Freeman wanted Heacock badly. I'm not sure if it was when he was hired or the second year. But they targeted him and I'm pretty sure Heacock talked with them and decided to stay here.

My guess is that it's less likely this time just because he is that much closer to retirement (frankly I'm sort of surprised he's still around). But maybe that would make him more likely to stay.
I was thinking of Tony Alford. Coached at ISU , then Notre Dame. I had him confused with Chris Ash (from Ottumwa).

I think it was mentioned on here before that Jackson would return. Ngoyi to DB was a surprise though. Hopefully he has the success that Porter has had after switching to defense.

Roster has been updated, and include the transfers and early enrollees...

Thanks, Demon! Call me crazy, but I look that over and I see a lot of guys that have played for an 11-win team, and a lot of younger guys that came with a lot of hype. Can't help but think good things!! (Less than 7 months until our first game).

I wonder if Ngoyi wanted to make the change, or was told to? Seemed like a good WR prospect, although the few times he was thrown to, he did seem to have a bit of the dropsies.

Both sides probably looked at how they can get an athlete like Beni on the field and came to the realization, with new WR coming in, it wasn’t gonna be on offense

This. Alston having a good bowl game may have had something to do with it, plus Sowell coming in and I think Overby passed Ngoyi on the depth chart late in the season. Nogyi is built like Porter and has enough speed to play corner so I like this move, especially with Porter and Purchase graduating. He will be able to start learning the position during spring ball and has all summer to work at it.
