Why wouldn't KJ make it to campus? I know he hasn't signed but is he not expected to make grades or is he waiting for better suitors?

If I were a betting man, I would say....

PG: Bubu (Monte winning the spot by conference play)
SG: SDW/Thomas/Bluford
SF: Hogue/SDW
SF: Ejim/Niang
PF: Niang (not sure who steps up and gets minutes between Edozie, Armadi or Percy)

I have no inside info but somewhere around here posted some tweets of his that were negative toward his current school and it was suspected that it perhaps had to do with grades. Then there was the report that we had contacted the Seton Hall transfer just leading to more speculation.

He made twitter comments about Northeast CC trying to "ruin his life". All just speculation on him not coming of course.

Boy, I hope KJ makes it here. We can't have too many shooters. He'd be nice to have coming off the bench to give us an offensive boost.

Does anyone really know what the situation with him is at this point? I know some of his tweets or something haven't sounded real positive, but does anyone know what's going on? Sounded to me like his JUCO was making it as difficult on him coming here as possible or something?

It sounded as if he got kicked out of his dorm because of guests he had. Not confirmed but that was the gist I got.

Solid base for next year in Ejim and Niang. Main thing missing for next year will be experience, but I think this will be a solid team by conference play. Lots of talented guards, although not a lot of Big 12 experience. I just think at this point we have to have faith in the coaching staff to develop a pretty good team.

I am so excited about Monte Morris. He seems like the kid that ends games on defense by creating a turnover. I think he will be huge for us next year.

I think there will be a fall off from this year but I think the whole conference will be down. Kansas is losing a ton. Baylor will lose a lot. K-State and OSU will lose a lot too. Plus Kabongo (sp) probably goes pro so Texas won't be improved much.

What I am saying is that we may be down a bit but finish about the same in the conference. Everyone will be replacing key players.

The big question to me is what players on the team now make big steps before next season. Ejim has made huge steps the last 2 years and there is no reason to think other players wont make a jump forward. If Gibson gets a fire lit under his *** he could be a good player for 2 years.

Blalock and Stinson played well as freshmen and walked into a similar situation as next years fresh are, good experenced bigs to help them out. The biggest difference is the current team has better coaching than that team did.

I will say this - the next 2-3 weeks will be the telling weeks for us.

By the end of this week, we will know who is transferring

By the end of the tournament, we will know if we receive any more jucos or transfers.

T.hat lineup would be too small. Hogue has to start if Niang and Ejim do. Otherwise, next to Ejim, Thomas and SDW are only 6'4. Korie is the only current player under 6'5" on the current starter list and we are small now.
hogue is an excellent defender and athlete. He cand drive to the basket creating opportunities for the wings to sink 3s as well as be a crucial rebounding weapon.

Yep. That will be a key and someone will surprise us. I also think Fred may be forced to emphasize D more because we won't be able to count on being the top scoring team in the league.

We lose Babb but if we emphasize it more and if we can get some defensive talent from our Juco's we may improve overall.

I agree that we'll learn if someone is leaving but a lot of times it takes a while to learn of we're landing anyone.

The 3 transfers we were in on last year went well into the summer for a couple of them.

We'll at least learn if we're in on some guys I guess and if I were a betting man, I see us taking one

Our core of Ejim and Niang will lead this team through hard work and emotion.

I think Melvin will improve and be a 1st or 2nd team all big 12.
