Just letting the CF folks know that if you're coming down for the Houston game, yes, the Texas alumni clubs will be throwing a joint tailgate party on the SE side of campus. The Houston club is also throwing a Friday night preparty at their gamewatch bar about 7 mi NW of UH campus (see below).


Iowa State @ Houston BBQ Tailgate
The ISU alumni clubs of Austin, Dallas-Ft. Worth and Houston will be hosting a FREE pregame tailgate party for fellow Cyclone fans in town. The location was just decided to be at Lot 3 & 4 on the SE side of campus with free shuttle option to stadium. Due to U. Houston campus policies this will be different from past "all-inclusive" tailgate parties hosted on private property at Baylor and U. Texas.

• Game kickoff was recently announced for 6:00p and therefore the ISU tailgate will start at 1:00p and end at 5:30p
  • No tailgating allowed after games in UH public lots
• NO COST to attend tailgate since Lot 3 & 4 is an open public lot
  • Look for ISU flags and some small tents along the south end of large Lot 3 entering off 5006 Calhoun Dr.
  • If parking a vehicle, all spots are $30 ea. payable by text messaging "UH30" to cell # 25023 then supply your license plate and credit card info. Can prepay as early as midnight on gameday for the entire day.
  • Can buy multiple adjoining spots for $30 each for tent/chairs/cornhole/etc as long ordering with same license plate #
  • The Houston MetroRail Purple Line does stop at Wheeler St. right across from our Lot 3 and is free from any station in Houston with a game ticket
• One BBQ plate of a mix of fresh-smoked brisket, chicken and pork/sausage + sides for sale (optional)
  • Encouraged to prepay here for adequate food planning. Price is $30 for one plate if preordered online until Thursday then increases to $50 on gameday Saturday (while supply lasts). No cash, credit cards only
  • Check for your name on BBQ will call list at the DFW tent to get a wristband for food
  • Bottle of water is included in price
  • Non-refundable and NOT all-you-can-eat like past tailgates
  • All proceeds are going to Austin club's scholarship fund for confirmed ISU freshmen living in the greater Austin area
  • DFW Club is also selling swag and raffle tickets for their local ISU scholarship fund

I’ve helped a little before in ATX before moving to FLA, and wish I could help / lend a hand in getting this inaugural Houston tailgate kicked off as it’s quite a lot of work before, during, and after.
