OK then, how about this argument? Morgantown is a crap hole compared to Provo and it is a lot easier to fly into Salt Lake City and drive to Provo than it is to fly into Pittsburgh and drive to Morgantown.

That is good enough reason for me!!!

It would be nice though, to go to Morgantown to see what Jack Trice Stadium could look like when and if we get the money for the SEZ project.

Per twitter...

MU in secret talks with ISU to go to B10.

What are these secret talks?

Mizzou: "Hey, ISU, Ssssshhhh, we really want to go to the B1G, this SEC thing is just a rouse We feel with the telephone trophy and your connections in Iowa, we are a good fit, could you put a good word in for us?"

ISU: "Huh?"

no insight but gotta be TVs apparently in realignment powers think Missouri has TVs but in practice they don't get on tv. So in theory Missouri is valuable, reality no one watches, my best guess they get left at the altar again sucks to be the girl with a nice bod, ugly face and shallow personality...
Not much she can do about the face, but she could improve her personality.

I haven't heard anywhere the service academies saying no...they've just said, keep your teams and then we'll decide.

Is this conference worthy of BCS status?

Non-northeast Division

Our symnpathy goes out to the Father from Villanova trying to move up a tier in football only to find out it was a bad financial decision as the BE disintegrates.

I could be wrong, but the Tier I deal was originally being negotiated for 12, with CU and kNU. The renegotiation already occurred when we went to 10, ABC/ESPN agreed to allow us to keep the same amount for 10 teams, meaning more for everybody who stayed. I don't think they have a whole lot of incentive to let us come back for more if we go to 12 again.
I believe this to be the case. For the record UNL paid $9M and CU paid $7M in TV money to exit. aTm is at $28M. One estimate said MO may be $49m to exit. I say keep adding tesams and upping the exit fees. We could bowl in the southend if we get lkots of exit teams. I figure Bevo the UT is worth $70M and Boomerville OU is worth $60M if they exit. Of course, BYU and AF may then be out league's star teams.

If the service teams do not join the BE, the ticker has started for implosion. Maybe ND olympic sports will actually come our way.

I don't think Navy is dismissing it. They're saying, why don't you show me nobody else is leaving...

Navy AD Chet Gladchuk on TCU news: Big East needs to ‘figure out how to right the ship’ - Mids Insider - The Washington Post

Gladchuk said last week that Navy was in no rush to make a decision about whether to join the Big East, and that the academy would consider the change from football independence only “when the Big East is on solid footing.” He reiterated those comments Thursday.
“As I said from the beginning, our position remains comfortable as an independent,” Gladchuk said. “We’ve had discussions with the Big East about possible membership. There is no timetable or sense of urgency on our part. We asked the Big East to stabilize. Obviously this is a step back for them.”
Without TCU, the Big East would be left with only six schools that play major college football. Last month, Syracuse and Pittsburgh announced that they would leave the conference to join the ACC.
“As it stands today, the issue is not ours. The issue is theirs. They’ve got to figure out how to right the ship,” Gladchuk said.
But there is a rush. Team counting for Big East TV revenue must be firm by 1 Nov for the TV contract negotiations.

Bump to feed the Monster Thread.

It's been three hours. Tummy rumbly.

I knew something would come out of Kansas City's business group, it had too... The money lost in Kansas City if Missouri went to any other conference would easily be in the millions of dollars. You have to believe that their are quite a few big donors that are in the Kansas City are as well that can't be pleased about the potential to leave the region...

Awe, logic, tradition and rational thinking. Unfortunately, if Mizzou is seriously considering a move to the SEC all this is out the window.

Hell, Paul Finebaum was going off the other night on his show about how 'Ol Miss doesn't match up to SEC standards and should be booted out. I don't understand how Missouri thinks they fit in with that at all. I know he's just a radio host, but I guarantee you he probably thinks like a lot of them do.
